Jingle Project

For the Jingles Project here at SAE, we are required to choose any 4 minutes worth of advertisements and then re-produce their audio. As of now, I have started working on 3 ads with a total duration of 2 minutes. I'm going to use Steinberg Cubase for this project.

The first one will be a 30 sec Vodafone India ad. This ad is comedic and cheerful and I'm thinking about creating a piano melody in the key of C Major. I will also add drums and some SFX for certain parts like the Hair clipper sound. I recorded the hair clipper sound in my last tri for Sample Library project so will be using that.

The second one will be a 60 sec Ford Mustang ad. This one will be a bit challenging to do because I'll have to source a lot of Mustang (V8 engine) sounds and will have to play around with frequency filters and their automations for creating believable SFX. For example, I will cut the highs and boost the mids for replicating sounds as heard from inside of a car. I will use www.freesound.org for most of the sound samples but will also look for samples at other places like Youtube. I've also created a hip hop beat and melody specifically for this ad and will be using that.

The third one will be a 46 sec Cadbury ad. This one will be quite similar to the vodafone ad because it has a similar mood and theme. My only concern is the voiceover which I might have to do myself. I'll see how it goes.

Update

I tried doing the voiceover myself but it didn't sound very good. So I asked Miguel Artugue, a fellow student and friend at SAE to help me with it. He recorded the voiceover and sent it over and now it sounds great.

The above three ads are the only ones I've decided to do so far. I'm still searching the web for more ads and will update here as soon as I find them.

Update

My fourth ad will be the Iphone 7 + Airpods - Stroll 60 sec ad. For this jingle, I will use Logic Pro as its great for producing beats. I'm thinking about creating a nice groovy beat with a groovy bass line, and will ad some vintage organs and piano with some modern electronic elements.

My fifth and final individual ad will be the "NSW Road Traffic Authority 40 sec ad". For this one, I'm thinking about doing a rap/hip hop inspired jingle on a humorous note. The car shots and the driver's expressions inspired me to make a hip hop and bass-heavy jingle. I will add a rap acapella which I downloaded from www.looperman.com called "Happy Person". It is by a rapper Micah Byrnes and he has given full permissions to use his voice.
